The United Nations World Conference Against Racism (WCAR) will take place in Durban, South Africa. An NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) Forum will be held from August 28 to 31, 2001. The governmental meeting will be held from August 31 to September 7, 2001.
Robby Rodriguez of SWOP is in Durban as a representative of the Southwest Network for Environmental and Economic Justice. Robby is part of a delegation sent to South Africa to elevate issues of Environmental Racism to an international stage. The delegation will be there to hold governments accountable to communities of color all over the world on the issue of Environmental Justice.
