Thousands March in US/Mexico Border Cities to Demand Human Rights, Open Border

The Southwest Network for Environmental and Economic Justice, its affiliate organizations and allies - united by a common call for social, environmental and economic justice - call for solidarity and unity between peoples both sides of the US/Mexico border.

The 'United without Borders' mobilization promises to be a major event for the next few years leading to the US presidential election in 2004 and Mexico's in 2006.

With successful demonstrations this year at border crossings in Matamoros/Brownsville, Juarez/El Paso, Nogales, Mexico/Nogales, Arizona and Tijuana/San Diego, organizers hope to expand to other border cities in the next couple of years.

Organizers are sending letters to the presidents of both countries with their demands.
