Recent policies in Arizona have made it clear that some of their elected officials do not want Latino and Native American kids to learn their history as told by Latino and Native American authors. A ban on history and education is a ban on culture.
Don't let Arizona teach children that any culture is wrong or that their history isn't valid. Help the students of Arizona!
Across the country, communities have been outraged by the racist policies that have been approved in Arizona. Educators are mobilizing everywhere. One way SWOP is supporting the students of Arizona is by offering our banned book for free to any Arizona student who writes us a letter expressing why ethnic studies is important. You can support this effort and the students in Arizona by making a contribution to donate a book to a student so Chicano and Native American cultures are not erased from history in Arizona.
