intel: what are we breathing? We at SWOP have compiled the following information to better inform the neighborhoods most at risk from Intel's pollution. The first link uses EDF's Scorecard to see how Intel's Rio Rancho Fabrication Plant stacks up against other facilities in New Mexico. The second link is a list of chemicals Intel is applying for permission to emit (from an Intel document
dated February 1999)--Again, we have linked these chemicals with Scorecard's on-line database so that residents can see for themselves what may be coming their way (if it's not already there). Links 3 and 4 come to us courtesy of Stone Lions Environmental Corporation. Check out our Bucket Brigade, our home-style monitoring system. Listen to SWOP co-director Michael Guerrero on Democracy Now. Click here to see how Intel's employees are treated.
The Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition has more information on pollution and environmental justice. Go to our page on Environmental Justice to find out if there are toxic chemicals coming your way! Visit Scorecard's POLLUTION LOCATOR to see if pollutants are coming your way! The pollution locator finds, for example, Toxic Chemical Releases from Manufacturing Facilities, state-by-state information on Hazardous Air Pollutants and Potential Sources of Land Contamination. Use the menu bar to the left to volunteer. |
