SWOP homepage
We're having a great time on the Freedom Caravan. The spirit and camaradery is great, and our hosts all along the way have been really good to us. We had an incredible day in New Orleans and Slidell, Louisiana yesterday and are now on our way to meet Southern Echo, an organization here in Jackson, Mississippi that SWOP has an ongoing dialogue with. We're looking forward to learning about the civil rights movement today, both the history and the ongoing struggle of African Americans for justice. The trip has been non-stop, with not a lot of time to write. But we'll try to get something more indepth up tonight before we descend on Atlanta tomorrow.
