SWOP homepageLooks like they struck a deal
Karlos! Nice to see you blogging all the way from San Francisco.
I'm here in the council chambers...sitting with all the bloggers. It's pretty cool that we can blog from here.
News on the street is that a compromise has been struck that amends the bill to include a provision that employers can deduct $1.00 if they provide at least $2500 annually in health and child care benefits. That gives at least five councilors and the mayor.
So...probably not much of a debate tonight. And perhaps that's why the turn-out here tonight isn't great. This room is about 2/3 full at this point and we're about to start. Still, the social justice crowd is here and that's always great to see.
